STAGS is a YA thriller, pitting the old against the new, the traditional against the modern. Greer is a newcomer at prestigious boarding school; she's a scholarship kid who tries to keep her head down. When she gets an invitation to a weekend away at über popular boy Henry's estate, she sees it as a way in with the elite kids (the "Medievals"). Little does she know that "huntin', shootin' and fishin'" are as dangerous for her and her peers as the blood sports are for the animals. Twisted into a centuries old battle of high born vs. upstart, Greer and the two outsiders she's invited alongside must each battle for their dignity... and their lives.

I really enjoyed Greer's voice; she narrates events as she sees them, through the lens of a film-fanatic teenager. I thought her take on things was really authentic. Some of the other characters were a bit less three-dimensional. Likewise, the ending seemed a bit... haphazard. Both too clean and just twisted enough. Still, STAGS was an enjoyable thriller that I wanted to keep picking up.
