The cover for this did what it says on the tin, the central focus for a lot of things is stags and it is portrayed simply on the cover.
I chose this book as it was a well rated Young Adult read, and I am quite fond of a YA title. Unfortunately for me, this wasn’t a huge hit.
The story centres around a school and some of its pupils, they end up on a trip during a summer break and that’s when things start to turn a little bit strange.
Some of the relationships in the novel did seem quite genuine and you did slot into the scenario with them, however some of them seemed forced or a little lost in the story.
I personally also thought it was quite predictable, I wasn’t shocked by much as I carried on reading and I also guessed the ending quite soon which was a little disappointing.
It is definitely not a bad book, it follows a good timeline but for me it was lacking the excitement that some other YA books have and it didn’t grab me
