On first look I was drawn to the cover - black and white, hand drawn and simple. Why was there a rope in the tree? I was keen to find out more.
Once I started reading the extract I struggled at first. I found it hard going and to be honest not that engaging. I forced myself to read on and I'm glad I did, it slowly starting making sense, I learned more about the characters and hints were given about things that had happened. I must say I am very keen to read this book now. I want to see what happens with the Beacons, what happened to Ewan and will life return to some sort of normality for the couple.
