The first impression didn't grab me, nor did the synopsis. The book cover is quite dark, with the hangman's noose adding an extra level of darkness. I did feel sympathy for both Richard and Juliette, and how they were both dealing with the grief of the loss of their little boy, Ewan. However, I genuinely don't know whether I want to read this book or not...
