This isn't my usual genre of book but I read the first impression and was really keen to find out what happened next. The book is certainly gripping as I read it all in 1 day, the writing style is compelling. It starts off seemingly about a regular grieving set of parents, however something much darker unfolds as we learn about the events leading up to Ewan's death and the ways he changed. I couldn't quite warm to any of the characters, I found Richard a bit strange as he was completely against the séance but happily accepted the hare coming back to life? I didn't like the sister character as I think she could have a lot more sympathy/patience with her grieving sister. My problem with the book is that I didn't really understand the ending, maybe that was the point to leave you wondering a bit?
