Have you ever wanted to know and not know the ending to a book in equal amounts?
That’s how this book makes you feel! It’s so disturbingly good you won’t want to put it down, but he story line will haunt your thoughts until you finish it.
Following a couple who inherit a family house and decide to move there to raise a family, after all it seems the idyllic place to bring up a child... or is it?
The author manages to delicately weave notions of uneasiness into the characters so you see the subtle shifts in their characters after they move to Starve Acre. You are left wondering if the changes are down to mental health issues or ghostly disturbances and you won’t know which until the very end when the entire story unfolds.
The ending is one of the best I have read, showing the author had thought of every last detail in this tale.
