I really was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. It came at a time of the year when spooky and haunting tales are welcome along with Halloween.

The gothic eeriness that comes with such a dark tale is matched with compelling characters and a depth unlike many other traditional books of this particular genre. The themes explored are complex touching on grief, supernatural, isolation and relationships.

It is certainly unique in many ways and I think this is what certainly makes it so good overall. The ending scene is what really got me and I am sure it will have done the same for a lot of readers! I reccommend for a different read - it's quick yet it stays with you for a long time after.
