I was initially really excited about winning a copy of this book for two reasons. The first, I am a horror genre fan, and second, the synopsis sounded really good, a decent ghost story.
Unfortunately though, I only got about a quarter of the way through and then gave up.
As well written as it is, the style of language/writing meant for me, I just couldn't get into it & connect with the story. It also felt like the story had started some what in the middle, so it took me a bit to understand what was happening.
Even though the book wasn't for me, I think the author described the scenery beautifully and included a bit of folklore in there, and I think the writing style almost made it it feel like a classic.
