I read this book really quickly, I found it intriguing and very easy to get in to. There was some atmosphere but it was not as atmospheric as I would have expected it to be.
With the mystery around Starve Acre and their sons death, amongst all the town rumours about the land, I expected to feel a lot more creeped out.

There was some sense of something “not being quite right” but I was not as invested as I had anticipated.

The scenes with the hare were probably the weirdest and creepiest. So much about it made me feel icky and weird. I just knew it was not going to be the miracle it appeared to be from the start, it just wasn’t right.

Overall though, it was a good and very fast paced read. I probably would have read it even faster had there been chapters. I just find myself taking more regular breaks from my reading without a chapter to easily break it up.
