a bit of a weird book it describes characters and settings . The story is around the death of a child and how the parents have their own coping mechanisms. The father digs in a field in search of tree roots of a tree long gone and used to hang two men , the father discovers the bones of a hare and takes them home he carefully lays them out and the next day the bones seem to be starting to take form of the hare. Friends rally around and bring a woman to help the mother find peace but all that this woman feels is the house is evil. The hare comes to life and the father tries to realease it outside but it comes back he then finds his wife breast feeding the hare which has taken the place of his dead son
