First off I really enjoyed Hurley’s descriptive language and it lent itself well to the book. However, I don’t think this book was for me sadly. I didn’t really feel there was much to it and I don’t know if it just went over my head, but I did struggle with it.
I enjoyed the creepy/spooky element to it and the cover was just beautiful, but sadly it just wasn’t 100% for me. I so wish it had been because I loved the idea of it.
The book has a supernatural feel to it and focuses on the death of a wee boy, but before his death he was experiencing supernatural things and was acting out in very surreal ways. Hurley writes very well and created a spooky atmosphere but for me I just couldn’t really get into it as much as I would have liked.
