While the cover and blurb definitely attracted me, the extract was disappointing in my opinion.
The writing style was lovely however I felt that some parts did not fit well together and some sentences were too long.
I found the layout of it quite confusing as well. The POV switched from one character to the other without any notice.
I felt like so many names were mentioned that I eventually lost track. With historical fiction novels such as these, it’s important to not jump straight into the story.
Overall , this novel has great potential but I just found it too confusing for my liking.
