Wow. Not only can you feel the chills from the Winter of 1978/79 in East Germany but from the beautifully narrated language used in this book you feel the chill of what it must have been like to live in East Germany then. What it's like having a government agency have utter control over your life you shop someone close to you. I gasped out loud within the first few pages. What a novel. I found myself utterly there and intrigued how Wildcat would continue on her journey.
