Although it's not required to have read the earlier books in this series it's good to know there are more to read right away if you enjoy this one. There is a brief outline in the extract which sums up some of the previous book (which i was lucky enough to win from this site). It begins with a look at a point in time which must be near the end of the story - a chase through a snow storm, before jumping back to before the events happened which leads up to the story - inviting you in to found out more about how they got to where they were in the opening pages.
Karen Muller is a well written lead character, good to see how the author got her back in the case seeing as she had quit at the end of the previous book. The extract flows well and the pages fly by, i enjoyed the previous book (and have still to read the earlier ones) and am definitely looking forward to reading more of Karen Muller's journey.
