David Young's Stasi Winter is the latest book in the "Stasi" series featuring Karin Muller and it is another excellently researched and written crime novel that is set in East Germany in the 1970s.
The author clearly loves his subject and his research shines through this novel producing an authentic feeling novel but one that doesn't become dragged down in minutiae
This book picks up a few months after the previous one ended and covers the Christmas and New Year period but it is far from a festive season.
Whilst I have read and loved all the books in this series Stasi Winter can quite easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel but it will make you want to read the previous four books.
