One of my first attractions was the use of the second person narrative within the prologue. I think this is a great way to entice the readers and persuade them to read on. Instantly you are thrown into a situation that is ever so captivating. Then it fades back into the third person narration, and just like in Stasi Child, David Young has created an exceptional voice for his characters; bold and strong, they come to life off the page. There is an intense need to read on, to found out what will come of Karin and Werner's relationship; what the purpose of Wollenburg, the doctor is and where exactly the assignment to Halle-Neustadt will lead Karin and Schmidt.

Stasi Wolf has the essence of a great thriller which leaves you wanting to turn the pages. I was disappointed to reach the end of the sample chapters and cannot wait to read the full story. The jacket cover also sticks to the similar, striking but simple style to the first book in the Müller series which will add a consistency to ones bookshelf (which I have to admit, I am all for!)

All in all, excellent, enticing first few chapters!
