For starters, I am 100% not the target audience for this book. The style of writing is similar to that of a teenage boy who's trying to be gangster, but it just comes across as illiterate and is surprisingly hard to read! Here's an example sentence: "I feel like I'm missing part of body, like my ghoul bladder or my sarcophagus". I suppose it's supposed to be funny, but I have a feeling a large percentage of the target audience aren't going to know what the author means, and it isn't going to help educate them. The storyline is ok, telling kids it's ok to talk about their emotions and normalising going to see a counsellor, how to deal with an unpleasant viral video and being there for your friends and family. I liked the raptology battles at the end, the lyrics were pretty good and it left me with a warm glow when I'd finished it, but for me I couldn't get over the poor use of language - I get that the book wants to reach its target audience, but I also feel books have a duty to educate people. The bits with Mr Rix were good, he imparted some wisdom to Growls.
