I initially thought this would not be my type of book but I surprisingly quite enjoyed this. I read this quite quickly because I found it interesting and it suits well to the YA target audience. Teenagers/school children would love this in my opinion especially with the embedded street talk which is popularly used amongst the youngsters. This is a uniquely written novel and I found it so fresh and funny! I like growls' character and it's nostalgic and lovely seeing him trying to fit in to his school with his differences, in this day and age, with his goals to becoming a famous rapper. He becomes best friends with Shanks who also joins him on his dream despite becoming more stable and well-off in his life compared to Growls. There are also important themes covered throughout such as mental health, racism and poverty but without being too heavy on the reader so I definitely recommend.
