“Yeah they call me Growls,
I’m like a tiger on the prowl”

Tough one for me to judge, as I’m about as far from the target demographic as you can get. But I will say I like the tone of the book, it’s fun and lighthearted which I think is appropriate for the age group it’s aiming for. The blurb and advertising says it’s for teens, but I personally would think it would appeal more to junior school (KS2) children.
It has lots of urban and colloquial language use, and a lot of references to modern technology, social media, current film and tv stars so is well cemented in its time. The key words on the back include “sick bars, beat drops and real OGs” - it couldn’t be more ‘Street’ if it tried.
Personally I feel like it’s trying too hard to be urban, almost to the point of cliche, but as I say, this book isn’t intended for me.

The cover art is bright and colourful and the graffiti-style font lends itself well to the story and setting.
