An interesting read including history, war and love. The book is has been translated from German, which sometimes I struggle with but this book was translated well.
The book is short (less than 200 pages) and you could easily read this book in a day. Which came in handy with all the snow we have had this weekend.
There are times I struggled with all the characters in this book, I skipped between loving them and hating them. I think if the book has been longer you could have developed more feelings towards the characters.
I love the way the author has section about what is happening in different parts of the world as this really puts it into perspective. I think this might have been the best part of this book for me.
If you are looking for a love story set during the second world war then you will like this book.
