Wow, what can I say about this book. It had me completely hooked from the beginning. I finished this book in two sittings and I really couldn’t put it down. Everyone should read this book. I read a lot of books set during the Second World War but this one was completely different to what I am used the reading. The author builds up such a strong relationship between Kristin and Fritz that you really want them to end up together but is it possible? Both Fritz and Kristin are making difficult decisions during a war time Berlin and you start to wonder how this is possible. I really enjoyed the style of writing and the summaries at the beginning of each month that updated the reader on the other events going on around the world. Throughout the novel I was unable to predict what was going to happen to the couple and I’m not sure what I wanted the outcome to be but it didn’t leave me disappointed. Must read
