I read the first impression of this book through ReadersFirst and received a free gifted copy, from this first impression I really thought I was going to love this book and I was absolutely hooked, but it just fell a bit flat for me personally when it came to reading the entire book. I don't think this is a bad book per say, hence the three star rating I gave this book but it didn't impress me and blow me away like I wanted it to.
I thought that the author, did a really fantastic job on setting the scene in this book though, and the whole book had this really personal feel like a diary or journal written during the war period which I really did like and would love to see more books written like this in the future. I thought that the involvement of a real figure, Stella Goldschlag was a really interesting take on a fiction book, so it felt like a non-fiction and interweaved facts with the fiction which I really liked.
