"This is a dark tale. A grim tale.
It’s a tale from another time, a time when wolves waited for
girls in the forest, beasts paced the halls of cursed castles, and
witches lurked in gingerbread houses with sugar‑kissed roofs.
That time is long gone.
But the wolves are still here and twice as clever. The beasts
remain. And death still hides in a dusting of white.
It’s grim for any girl who loses her way.
Grimmer still for a girl who loses herself.
Know that it’s dangerous to stray from the path.
But it’s far more dangerous not to"

We all know the story of Cinderella, I think we could all recite it in our sleep. And so when I see another retelling of that I do think to myself, do we need another. But then I read the synopsis, and I realise that this isn't anything like any other retelling that we've read before. This isn't from the damsel's point of view, this is from the villain's point of view. That alone had me really intrigued by this book; I love to read books from different perspectives, and reading from the view of someone who we're not meant to feel sympathy or sorrow for, to me sounds really interesting. I am intrigued to see how Donnelly is going to approach this; are we going to see the step-sister redeemed, or are we going to begin to learn that some people do not get a redemption.

"Isabelle pulled the blade from the flames.
And tried to forget the rest."

This is definitely a book I want to get my hands on.
