Happily ever after..? Reimagining of Cinderella for the 21st Century..!
A fantasy novel is fairly low on my reading agenda, but an innovative reimagining of a classic fairy tale from a feminist angle is an altogether different matter and this story ticks every box! I devoured the FI and was captivated by the sharp, incisive storytelling of Jennifer Donnelly and pulled me straight into the fast-moving drama.
Telling a classic story from a slightly subversive perspective and posing the question of just what role fate and chance play in a person’s life, Stepsister promises to be a thought-provoking and slightly twisted read! I would even consider cutting a toe off for a chance to read (joke...)!
