Oooh, I do love a fairy tale retelling!

There is a fantastic trend in books at the moment to write strong leading female characters, who do not conform the the expected womanly role. About time too!
I love a retelling of a fairy tale, which has previously been all about a girl finding a prince and living happily ever after. Life is not like this. We should be teaching our daughters that they can be strong and independent and do not need to fit the stereotype - I know I have raised my own daughter this way.

However, this book promises much more: not only the remaking of a female role into a strong, independent character, but also one who is traditionally seen as a baddie! Can an Ugly Sister be reformed and break away from the fate decided for her? I don't know, but it would be a lot of fun to find out!
