The opening phrase, “once upon always and never again,” has a morbid, angry tone that I personally adore. The morbid theme continues throughout the prologue, with its themes of witchcraft and ancient religions thrown in as was. It’s also an interesting take to follow the stepsisters as beaten down abused individuals that fall victim to their power hungry mother.
