This is a great concept. Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly focuses on Isabelle, one of Cinderella's stepsisters. This is a terrific idea for a story and gets off to an intriguing start. The book begins with the Fates mapping lives when Chance steals Isabelle's life map with a plan to give her the chance to live her life as she wishes rather than according to the map drawn by the Fates then moves on to the Prince visiting all the houses with the glass slipper to find the one person it will fit. The cover shows the glass slipper splintering and the words 'pretty is dead long live ugly' causing the reader to wonder if Cinderella will triumph in the author's version of the classic fairy-tale. Can't wait to read the rest of this story.
