I love this book! Cinderella is my favourite fairy story ( and my daughter’s) and it’s great to find a modern retelling, that focuses on the bad guy, but still has the twisted, gothic style of classics such as the Grimms’ fairytales.

The reader is drawn into the dark lives of the central characters from the start and I loved the eerie and grotesque style of the book.

I can’t wait to find out if the bad character can turn good and if she really was that bad all along. I think there will be a strong moral fibre to this tale and parts everybody can relate to as we go through life, as the opening dedication reflects.

This book is like reading a classically wicked tale; one you can curl up with on the sofa, with a cup of tea and be taken away on a fabulous storytelling telling ride..... I can’t wait to share it with my daughter. I hope it’s full of villainous characters and fiendish plots!
