The stepsister is a retelling of the book Cinderella but from another perspective. Readers can see how the protagonist is generally harsher and less emotional than most main characters but we still find something to relate to and like the character with. The concept of this book is amazing and it makes you question your morals and ideas. The opening captivating and I liked the writing style because it wasn’t young but was also not too wordy. I honestly looked at the title and blurb and thought it would be interesting but I did not realise HOW MUCH. Furthermore, the chapter lengths suited me because it made the story move way quicker.
However, I didn’t really enjoy reading the prologue it was not that interesting and slightly monotonous but apart from that I see no issues. I am going to continue reading this book because it seems intriguing - and who doesn’t like a retelling of their childhood stories!!
