I truly didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I'm not normally into this almost fantasy genre however this was such a well written and thought out book that I think it would be hard to not love it. Jennifer Donnelly has done so well with this. At first the frequent chapters were odd to me. The book is 469 pages and has 129 chapters, plus a prologue and epilogue. You get used to it so quickly and it makes it harder to put the book down because every chapter ends on some kind of revelation and makes you want to continue to follow Isabelle's story.
It was such a powerful story and I loved finding out more about Isabelle and Tavi. Everything was linked and nothing was quickly tied up. Every plot point, however minor had a purpose and I loved it so much.
