Unfortunately I’m going to have to finally admit defeat and accept that I have DNF’ed this one for the time being, but will be looking to pick it up again in the future as I really enjoyed what I read so far. This is not the book’s fault and is something to do with me so please don’t take this as a reflection of the book’s quality!
What I can tell you from what I read is that I loved how familiar this world felt, yet refreshing at the same time by exploring it from one of the step-sister’s POV. Cinderella is one my favourite fairytales and has been reimagined so many times, yet this felt new which is a credit to the author. The concept of Fate and Chance etc. being their own entities/characters was a highlight for me and I loved how easily I could picture the world and its characters. All of these points is why I am excited to try this story again in the future. Please do pick it up if you are interested in the synopsis and a fan of re-tellings like me!
