Stepsister is a great book! From reading the first look I actually wasn't that keen on reading it, as the opening where the Step sisters are cutting parts of their feet off seemed a little much. However, having reading and enjoying "Poisened" by the same author I was keen to read Stepsister and greatly enjoyed it. It's a brilliant telling of Cinderella but from the perspective of one of the "ugly" Stepsisters Isabelle. It's brilliant and gives a very positive message to women whilst making the reader think about the ways that people can constrain girls by the expectations they have of females. I found the book generally fast paced and compelling and really cared about Isabelle. It was great to see how her character developed throughout the book as she battles to find the lost pieces of her heart. I really hope there will be more fairytale books of this genre to come!
