This book is a continuation of the Cinderella story and had many of the things we would expect to find in a fairytale, ugly sisters, a handsome prince, a fairy queen. However this is different as it's the story of Isabelle one of the ugly sisters. Isabelle's greatest wish is to be pretty as she feels that life is so easy for pretty girls. Fate and Chance are fighting over Isabelle's life. Fate has drawn a map of her life showing that she will die very soon but Chance wants to give Isabelle the power to change her future. As the story goes on Isabelle begins to realise that there are qualities much more important than merely being pretty. She learns that we can't change the past but we can change the future.
