I hugely enjoyed reading this book. A reimagination of a classic fairytale, the author weaves an enthralling combination of fantasy, drama, eerie darkness and magic, all with a vein of truth, honesty and Girl Power running throughout.

I loved that the Cinderella element of the story is very much secondary and doesn't intrude too much on the tale of the main protagonist Isabelle, but adds just enough familiarity to feel instantly at ease with the book. The reader finds themself really wishing for good and love to triumph!

I'm a fan of Wicked and this book is in a similar genre although I would say Stepsister is more targeted at the Young Adult market. It's a relatively easy read and I couldn't put it down. Fantastical, flamboyant and fun!
