I really liked this book, and the writing style of it as a whole. However I do believe that the first few chapters of the book were a lot stronger than the rest of it, even though I did also enjoy the rest of the book.

I liked the fact that there were two narratives running alongside each other. That of Isabelle's story and the narrative of Fate and Chance working against each other to determine the course of Isabelle's life. I thought this was a really interesting and fresh take on the original story of Cinderella.

The other aspect of the book I was very much loving is the fact that it's a feminist book, filled with realism rather than perfect, uplifting magic. The characters' lives aren't perfect, and that's what makes this book somewhat perfect.
