Whilst Isabelle is challenged to change her perception of beauty, we as readers see the perspective from a bully other than the victim. Isabelle is angry, resentful, and bitter- the total opposite of her step-sister. It's a starting, fiercely re-imagining of cinderella. The book challenges our expectations and makes us view the villains from an entirely different view. It shows that nobody is perfect, this including Cinderella herself, all from Isabelle's point of view.
It's an amazing re-telling I would definitely read again.
