I loved this book! It's a Cinderella retelling from the point of view of one of the ugly stepsisters. The main character's name is Isabelle, who's biggest dream is to be pretty. She's jealous of her stepsister, Ella. She really wants to live up to her mother's expectations of her and not be seen as a disappointment in her eyes.
This book is a journey of and self-love. At the beginning of the story all Isabelle wants is to be pretty like her stepsister, but over time, she begins to love herself for who she is, not who she isn't.
Isabelle is an empowering female lead. I liked seeing her point of view throughout this retelling, it gave an interesting different point to the typical Cinderella story. Her relationships with her sisters, her mother and her friends are interesting to see really establish throughout the story. I really recommend this book to anyone needing a good read, I though it was quite nice.
