As soon as I saw this book and read what it was about I knew I needed to read it.
I really enjoy fairytale retellings, whoever they’re about and I love that this one is from the viewpoint of one of Cinderella’s ‘ugly stepsisters’.
It’s easy to dismiss the sisters as selfish bullies when you read or see the well known story so I really liked that this book delves deeper into the sisters and why they are the way they are and why they act so cruelly towards Ella.
It adds a whole new level of character development and I came to love Isabelle for her courage and bravery and Tavi for her thirst for knowledge.

I think this is a book that any fan of Cinderella should read.
It has a wonderful way of putting across the age old moral of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ but in this instance, referring to people.
It’s an easy story to get sucked into and I really enjoyed it!
