Love this - brilliant twist on a well-known fairytale
The preview of this book is brilliant, it is going straight on my TBR pile! The prologue, with the introduction of the fates and chance, hooked my attention immediately. I loved the imagery (the spider-like room), and enjoyed how I could see the characters as I read along. The prologue is reminiscent of old fairytales and made me smile - a great way to begin a book!
Upon the introduction of Isabelle, I was unsure how I could feel sympathy for a 'bully', as she is portrayed in the original fairytale. However, within one chapter I was beginning to pity her. There was an insight into her behaviour and I couldn't help but wonder what she would be like had she grown up in different circumstances.
Overall, an intriguing and great start to a book. I am excited to find out what happens!
