This is a rewriting of Cinderella and it is an absolutely different take on any of the versions I have read. I loved Ella and Isabella's interactions with each other and the fact that Chance wanted to make Isabella's fate easier for her. The story starts with Cinderella having her happy ever after and then focuses on the Stepsisters. Cinderella is not my favourite fairy tale story and I find the original boring but for some reason I'm obsessed with the retelling and this is definitely a favourite. It's not too dark but is not too gushy like the original. The reader really feels for Isabella much more than Cinderella and from the original story. The writing style flowed well. All in all I couldn't put it down. Five stars.
