I loved this book so very much. I absolutely love Jennifer Donnelly's works, and this is really no different. I went into this with so many high expectations, I was worried I'd disappoint myself, but I need not have worried I'm a huge fan of classic fairytale retellings or books based around secondary characters. Especially when they're done as well as Donnelly did with this one. The plot was so on point and still so much fun. There was such an important message in this book, and yet done in such a way as to not be in your face. You can invest in the characters, their wants and their needs and root for their happiness (or not depending on the character). I know so many people who I'll be recommending this book too.
