I loved this book! This is a Cinderella retelling from the point of view of one of the ugly stepsisters. The protagonist's name is Isabelle. Her biggest dream is to be pretty. She will do almost anything to become as beautiful as her stepsister, Ella. All Isabelle wants to do is live up to her cruel mother's expectations. Everything in Isabelle's life is going wrong before she realizes that she can change her own destiny.
This book is a journey of self-discovery and self-love. At the beginning of the story all Isabelle wants is to be pretty but over the course of the story she discovers that her beauty is not her value.
Isabelle is a strong and empowering female lead. I loved seeing her point of view throughout this retelling. Her relationships with her sisters, her mother and her friends are fascinating to see develop throughout the novel. I would definitely recommend this book and I really enjoyed it!
