It’s a straight five stars for me so far. I’ve recently started reading retellings and adaptations of fairy tales and decided to take a chance on this one, and I’m so glad I did. This is the book I never knew I needed in my life. The darkness of the cover is so important to adding to the atmosphere of the book, especially the opening in relation to the weather. And I love the introduction to the characters and their descriptions, I can vividly picture the people in my mind and it makes me want to follow their journey with them. I’ve added this book to my list of books to buy because I’m desperate to see what happens, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for further works from the author. Definitely recommend checking this out if you’re into retellings!
