Fairytale twists are probably one of my favourite types of books. I have read a lot of twists on fairytales and this book is definitely one of the best ones!
It tells the story of Cinderella's (Ella) stepsister, Isabelle. It starts with just before the prince arrives at the house to put the slipper of Cinderella's foot. We hear about (this is a bit gruesome so don't read if you have a weak stomach) Isabelle cutting off her toes in order to fit the slipper. We learn that Cinderella wasn't the only important character in the tale and that she wasn't the only one poorly treated. It shows us how the stepsister weren't really bad, that it was only their upbringing.
