This book was perfect in so many ways, it really did tick all the boxes for me.

Cinderella is one of those classical tales that has been re-adapted and re-imagined a thousand times and I have definitely read my share of them. Each re telling kept the basis of the story the same Cinderella is always the one with the happily ever after, the problem is most readers are not Cinderella’s - we all have a capacity for evil - whether we act on it or do not.

This is why Isabelle is a perfect character, she is Everything Cinderella is not and I love her for it. Recently many retelling have come out from the villains perspective that hints at why they did what they did (e.g Heartless) however they rarely ever write about after their fall. In this novel we are taught an important lesson - not only do we have the capacity for evil but we can be redeemed.

One of the major pull factors of this book was - and not to be superficial - was the cover! I mean come on it’s beautiful - proud to have this book and author on my shelf :)

I recommend this book.
