Of possibly every (disney) princess, Cinderella was my least favourite.
Growing up, I hated how 2D all the characters felt and the lack of motive behind the villains. There wasn't much to them aside from greed, selfishness and spite and the fact they were smile villains meant I never connected to the Disney Cinderella as I do other classic Disney princesses.
That is why I not only decided to give this a go but also found it enjoyable.
Rather than the selfish, bitter, small minded step sister in pretty much every version of this story, I loved the fact she had motive - trying to make her mother proud. I felt I could sympathise with her character rather. It was nice to see a version of Cinderella where it felt like the characters were more complex.
