I love reading a retelling, and this did not disappoint. Being told from the point of the stepsister, you gained an understanding of her character and what caused her to act the way she did earlier on. I was hooked from the very beginning. Most of the chapters were short, so it was easy to read. The cover is simple yet striking, and is perfect for this book. The style of writing was brilliant, and easy to follow. The characters were great, and easy to connect to. I thought that the whole plot was amazing, and carried out very well. Who doesn’t love a retelling, they are wonderful. The ending was perfect and inspirational, especially for young girls. It is a brilliant take on the ‘ugly’ stepsisters.
