Complex Scandinavian Crime Thriller
This is the first book I've read by Jens Lapidus but it definitely won't be the last. I love crime thrillers so this book seemed perfect for me and I was eager to read the entire thing after the sampler.
Initially, I found it a little confusing as the timeline jumps back and forward between two different plot threads. Additionally, there seemed to be quite a few characters to keep track of and I was a little confused by the numerous names and nicknames. The legal jargon was also a little overwhelming at times but, as it was integral to the plot, it wasn't out of place.
After about 50 pages, I was hooked by the story. The writing is taut and fast-paced, and the plot was incredibly well thought out. I connected with Emilie and Teddy so was invested in their outcome. This is a complex crime thriller that's definitely worth reading.
