After reading the first impression, I think it very much sounds and reads like an Agatha Christie mystery, especially set in an old building. It's a young adult book, but sometimes that makes them easier to understand the storyline. The front cover also depicts the story very well and I think it will appeal both to the younger reader and the older reader.
