As a huge fan of murder mysteries, both the cover and the premise of this story immediately drew me in. The first chapter is intense and gripping, planting questions about why one pre-college student might feel the need to murder another. As the first few chapters go on, it becomes clear that each of the students on the island is hiding dark secrets, each with motivations for murder that arouse suspicion. I know I'll enjoy trying to guess which of them is the prime suspect.

The class divide between Izzy and her friends is also an interesting dynamic, so I wonder how far that will play into the narrative. Also, the fact that Izzy has a curious, investigative mindset lends itself well to the type of story. So far, the characters are complex, the setting is memorable, there are twists and turns and the pace is great, so it has all the makings of a twisty mystery/thriller.
